Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to store, usually so it can recognise you on your next visit. Many websites use them to count visitors or to follow people between sites.
This website sets no cookies
If you are simply reading this website, it gives your browser no cookies at all. We checked every page. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel and no social media button anywhere on the site.
The typefaces used here are served from our own server rather than from Google Fonts, so reading the site involves no request to Google.
The two exceptions
If you log in to manage the site
Editors and administrators who sign in receive cookies from WordPress that keep them signed in and secure the forms they use. These are strictly necessary for a service the person has asked for, and they are not set for ordinary visitors.
If a page contains an embedded video
Videos of the Society’s own events are hosted on this website and set nothing. Where a page embeds video from YouTube we use YouTube’s no-cookie service, so opening the page does not place advertising or tracking cookies. Pressing play hands you over to YouTube, which may then set its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy.
Do you need to consent?
Because we set no cookies for visitors and do nothing that requires consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, this site does not show a cookie banner. If the Society later adds analytics, advertising or social media embeds, a consent banner will be required and this page will change first.
